Greenland F.A.
Brand Identity
Nuuk, GL
In June 2025, Greenland’s bid to join Concacaf was rejected—a moment that underscored the nation’s ongoing fight for recognition on the world stage. Yet football remains a cornerstone of Greenlandic life. With 76 clubs and 5,500 registered players—around 10% of the population—the game thrives in short bursts each summer, when weather and light allow. Football here isn’t just a sport; it’s a shared act of resilience, community, and pride.
This proposed rebrand for the Football Association of Greenland or Kalaallit Arsaattartut Kattuffiat (KAK) positions the organisation as a united, forward-looking body ready to stand confidently among the world’s football nations. The new mark abstracts the KAK initials into a bold, upward form—iconic, memorable, and simple enough for a child to draw. Its geometry and palette draw directly from the Greenlandic flag: red for passion and heritage, white for ice and endurance, and the central circle symbolising the returning sun at midsummer—a reminder of renewal and hope. The custom type system echoes this structure, creating a cohesive visual language that feels both distinctly Greenlandic and globally resonant.
“Onward As One” encapsulates the spirit behind the identity—a statement of unity, optimism, and national pride. It celebrates football’s power to bring people together across vast distances and harsh conditions, and expresses the resilience of a nation that continues to move forward, together.
